Perched

I'll start with what I really like about this. The configuration of the ropes really convey the tension on the model. I can really fell the downward pull. The pattern on the stockings really plays well with the light. Really nice job on those. They really give this image an almost burlesque feel. The highlights on the models left side is excellent. It really emphasizes the musculature of her obliques rising up into her back. I fell that the contrast of the right shadow side was a little understated. The shadows are soft and have a lot of inner glow to them probably caused by the reflection of what is off camera right. This scene is grungy industrial and I fell hard cast shadows would have really cut the curves of the model and background well. I would move the lighting very low to the ground forward left of the model at an upward angle and set a black velvet screen on off camera right to reduce the soft shadowing. I would also try playing with low light shots of the scene and overlaying them with highlight shots in Photoshop. I like the pose but the right image side hand is idle and takes away a little from the tension in this shot. Maybe grasping the rope like the left image side hand. This composition is very symmetrical and it tilts the balance a little. The pose of the model is very strong but I think if she had hung her head low it would convey a submissive and some needed emotion.It would bring some more highlights to her dark hair by illuminating the crown.
